  • PRHS Senior, Tanner Chiamprasert, Named National Merit Scholar Semifinalist

Pearl River High School is proud to announce that Tanner Chiamprasert has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.

Over 1.6 million students took the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last October and entered the National Scholarship Program conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Some 16,000 of those high performers were recently designated semifinalists which represents less than one percent of high school seniors and includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. As a semifinalist, Tanner will have the opportunity to compete for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.

“Our congratulations and best wishes go out to Tanner for this outstanding academic achievement,” remarked Superintendent of Schools, Marco Pochintesta.

PRHS Senior, Skylar Paletta, was awarded the Father F. Peter Malet Service to Youth Award at the 37th Annual Rockland County Youth Forum & Awards Celebration on October 19, 2017.  Skylar was recognized for her passion for volunteerism.
